15th Annual Living History Encampment
2018 Henry County Fair
August 9-16, 2018
If you are a re-enactor or living historian who shares a love of Northwest Ohio, Ohio, and American History consider participating in the Henry County Historical Society’s annual Living History Encampment during the Henry County Fair. If you are new or have not heard of our site before it is nestled in the southeast corner of the Henry County Fairgrounds with historic buildings including our 1897 Emmanuel Lutheran One-room Schoolhouse, 1860-1866 Nathaniel Hartman Log Home, 1910 Historic Gazebo, and much more!
If you would like to set up your period camp amongst our historic buildings, please register your camp ASAP as space is limited. All camps include onsite water, firewood, and straw by request. Restrooms and showers are available on the fairgrounds day and night.
Our 2018 theme is Support the Troops! If you have a military impression 1775-1865 we would love to have you! If you are a female do not feel excluded! Women are an important part of U.S. history too and we would love to have a variety of female participants as well!
All participants must register to participate. You can register to participate at the HCHS site. or download the entry form HERE. Each re-enactor must register him/herself. Couples and families may register on one form if applicable. Registration is required by July 31.
Admission passes will be granted to registered re-enactors only. There will be no exchanges or additional passes after registration is completed.
