Further Description:
Wide Queen Anne windows (1/1) with projecting molding above. Corner boards feed into narrow freize board. Pointed Gothic-type gables on front and sides. Small, gabled front porch with turned posts. The house is narrow and rambling to the north, with a number of gabled attachments at the rear. All attachments match the original architecture.
History and Significance:
Architecturally significant. Purchased by Daniel Huddle in 1893 from John G. Lowe. Likely built by Huddle who owned the property until 1897. Owned by Elizabeth J. Long from 1897 to 1923. The Huddles were a prominent Napoleon family who originally settled the area this structure sits in, near the fairgrounds. This Daniel Huddle was presumably related to these Huddles.
Description of Environment and Outbuildings:
Corner lot, on outskirts of Napoleon, near Fairgrounds. Oldest structure in area now becoming a housing subdivision.
