Preservation

Preservation encompasses the collection, cataloging, preserving, and displaying of historic artifacts that have been donated to, or purchased by, the Henry County Historical Society. Preservation is under the auspices of the Preservation Committee, but it is, in fact, the responsibility of all Society members to pitch in and help in this important endeavor.

The Preservation Committee is not currently meeting during the winter months, but will begin its work again in March. Last year, we found that Wednesdays at 1:00 pm at the Bloomfield Home was a convenient time to catalog our new acquisitions. We are looking for a grant to pay for a part-time Preservationist to take the burden of this important job off our volunteers.

For more information on how you can help, please contact Jim Rebar, Preservation Committee, Chair: .

The Preservation Committee is also working on interviewing residents of Henry County. Release your stories to us! If you are interested in sharing or know someone who you think would like to be interviewed, please contact Charlotte Wangrin of the Preservation Committee: .

Help us preserve the past for the present and the future!
